- Looking for a Full-time, 40 hours/week candidate!
- Hours of operation are 6:00AM - 10:30PM with day shifts starting at 6AM, 7AM, or 9AM and the evening shift starting at 12:30PM. Phones are on from 7:30 am - 5:30 pm, weekdays only. Phones are off on weekends.:
- Looking for a flexible candidate willing to work varying shifts within our hours of operation.
- This position will include every 4th weekend (Saturday & Sunday days) and two evening shifts during the week.

Qualifications
Required Education/Training/Professional Experience:
- Bachelor of Science or Pharm D Degree in Pharmacy
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other graphics or presentation software
Preferred Education/Training/Professional Experience:
- Knowledge of Specialty Medications preferred
- Knowledge of home infusion, mail order pharmacy or general pharmacy operations is preferred
Position Summary:
The Specialty Pharmacy Pharmacist works according to legal and ethical guidelines to ensure the correct and safe supply of medical products to Specialty Pharmacy patients. They are also involved in maintaining and improving patient health by providing pharmaceutical care services including, but not limited to: oversight, monitoring, preparation, dispensing and proper documentation of patient medication therapy, as well as providing drug information, patient information, and oversight of information and dispensing systems. The Pharmacist also ensures compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations, as well as proper medication storage and documentation.
Licensure/Certification Requirements - Staff Pharmacist:
- Current, unrestricted, relevant state/s Pharmacist License
Core Competencies & Responsibilities - Staff Pharmacist:
- Perform professional duties and responsibilities associated with the processing of prescription orders
- Prepare, label and dispense medications for patients in accordance with physician prescriptions; ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations pertaining to the dispensing of drugs and narcotics and the maintenance of required records
- Answer questions and provide information to pharmacy customers on drug interactions, side effects, dosage, administration and medication storage
- Maintain security of pharmacy, controlled substances, and disposal of medications
- Receive and review all prescriptions for accuracy and clinical appropriateness
- Review accuracy of prescription data entry, order filling, and shipping
- Identify and respond to medication issues associated with prescriptions being dispensed
- Perform utilization review for prescriptions
- Review labeling of all prescriptions dispensed for accuracy
- Review patient labs, height, and weight when needed for therapy
- Maintain pharmacy files for accuracy
- Knowledge of established procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances and disposal of medications
- Assist management with special projects as needed
- Assist with workflow management
- Comply with quality metrics, performance criteria, turnaround times and customer service metrics
- Identify and document clinical interventions, which include identifying potential cost savings through generic substitution, therapeutic interchange, pharmacy-economics, inappropriate utilization, dosing, or duration of therapy
- Complete and maintain all required documentation according to policy
- Maintain competency in area of practice by attending seminars, obtaining continuing education credits and successfully completing all clinically generated disease state overviews
- Participate in quality improvement activities
- Assist in training and supervision of pharmacy personnel
- Answer incoming calls, check voicemail and dictate verbal orders
- Participate in quality program initiatives and improvement activities
- Maintain a flexible schedule that may include on-call responsibilities, early morning, evening and weekend hours
- Work in a fast-paced production environment
- Proficient in determining priorities and pursuing the appropriate course of action
- Comply with all regulatory requirements, including HIPAA/HITECH

Physical Requirements & Work Demands - Staff Pharmacist:
- Frequent standing required for extended periods of time.
- Some bending and stooping required.
- Requires manual dexterity to operate keyboard, calculator, photocopy machine, and other lab or office equipment.
