Job summary

Qualifications

Role Description

The Staff Pharmacist is a full-time, on-site role based in the Kansas City Metropolitan Area. This role is responsible for accurately dispensing prescription medications, verifying orders, and ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulations. The Staff Pharmacist provides counseling and education to patients on proper medication use, potential side effects, and drug interactions, while maintaining patient confidentiality. Day-to-day tasks include supervising pharmacy technicians, overseeing inventory management, handling insurance and third-party issues, and maintaining appropriate documentation and records. The role also involves collaborating with store leadership to support excellent customer service, promoting health and wellness programs, and contributing to a safe, organized, and efficient pharmacy environment.

Qualifications

• Active Pharmacist license in the state of Missouri and/or Kansas, in good standing, and eligibility to practice in the Kansas City Metropolitan Area.
• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent degree from an accredited school of pharmacy; community/retail pharmacy experience strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of pharmacology, medication therapy management, drug interactions, and applicable pharmacy laws and regulations.
• Ability to provide clear, compassionate patient counseling, with strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with diverse patients and team members.
• Proficiency in pharmacy management systems, prescription processing, and basic computer skills; strong attention to detail and accuracy in dispensing.
• Experience supervising or directing pharmacy technicians, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and adherence to established procedures.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Commitment to ethical practice, patient confidentiality, and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, perform light to moderate lifting related to pharmacy operations, and work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed.
