UpLevel Sourcing, LLC is seeking a Staff Pharmacist for a hospital/health system in South Central Ohio. The role involves safe preparation and dispensing of medications across the system and may include patient interaction and immunizations under protocols.

Staff Pharmacist

Hospital / Health System Pharmacy • South Central Ohio • Full-Time Multiple openings

We're recruiting staff pharmacists for an independent, not-for-profit regional health system in south central Ohio. Decisions are made locally, leadership is visible, and the people receiving care are neighbors.

Several positions are open at once. The work covers processing physician drug orders across inpatient, outpatient, and/or retail, and the specific area of assignment varies by position - that's a conversation to have directly rather than something a posting settles.

What you'll do

The staff pharmacist is responsible for the safe, therapeutic, and rational preparation and dispensing of medications across the health system, in compliance with applicable law, accrediting standards, system policy, and sound pharmaceutical ethics. Decisions are made independently or in collaboration with another pharmacist.

Day to day, you will:

• Process physician drug orders accurately and on time - inpatient, outpatient, and/or retail
• Compound sterile and non-sterile medications using generally accepted pharmacy principles
• Assess each drug order for appropriateness and intervene when necessary
• Complete and document pharmacy operations accurately and on time, working proficiently across all required IT systems
• Document quality assurance activity - adverse drug reactions, medication evaluations, medication errors, and other assigned items
• Lead and direct pharmacy technicians, support personnel, students, and interns so daily operations run accurately and efficiently
• Maintain clinical competence in every activity relevant to your assigned area

Depending on assignment, the role may also include direct patient interaction: medication and disease-state education and counseling, minor lab procedures and interpretation of results, and immunization administration under approved system protocols.

You’ll maintain competency with patients in all age groups unless assigned to a specific population, and coverage may be required at any entity within the system.

What you’ll need

• Graduate of an ACPE-accredited pharmacy program - BS in Pharmacy or PharmD, both accepted
• Current license to practice pharmacy in the State of Ohio
• Immunization certification, depending on assigned area

Preferred:

one to two years in the area of assignment. This is a preference, not a hard requirement - pharmacists earlier in their careers and those returning to hospital practice from other settings are in scope.

Schedule

Full-time, variable shifts. Overtime-eligible. Occasional travel. Coverage may be required at any entity within the system.

Compensation and benefits

Up to $170,809 annually, based on experience and licensure.
