Job summary

Wing is seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Operations Research to join our Delivery Network team in a hybrid role based in Palo Alto, CA. You will own the mathematical foundations of our autonomous delivery network and tackle dynamic constraints like battery, weather, airspace, and demand.

You will work with flight and logistics data, applying optimization and ML techniques to improve dispatching performance, bridging research and production at scale.

Qualifications

• 12+ years solving complex optimization problems
• PhD or Master's in OR/related field
• Strong coding in Python/C++/Java
• Proven track record of production-ready algorithms
• Experience in aviation/autonomous logistics
• Familiar with optimization solvers (Gurobi/CPLEX/SCIP)
• Experience with cloud platforms and simulations

Responsibilities

• Design and implement algorithms in production delivery network
• Extract data-driven insights from complex logistics data
• Integrate OR and ML for improved dispatch decisions
• Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, hardware teams, PMs
• Evaluate options and decide OR methodologies for open-ended problems
• Mentor junior scientists and engineers in OR fundamentals
