Job summary

Washington University in St. Louis is seeking a Doctor of Optometry to evaluate and treat pediatric patients at the WashU Children's Eye Center. The role involves refractive exams, contact lens fitting, and cooperation with Ophthalmologists and Orthoptists.

Job description

Position Summary

Responsible for evaluating and treating pediatric patients within the WashU Children's Eye Center.

Scheduled Hours

40 hours per week.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Evaluates and treats pediatric patients, including refractive exams; contact lens fitting and dispensing; emergency exams; evaluation and management of medical diseases of the eye.
• Assists in Ophthalmologist's clinics alongside Orthoptist.
• Discusses and interprets findings with patients and suggests appropriate remedies.
• Adheres to established compliance guidelines to include those governing the appropriate coding of patient services and diagnoses.
• Adheres to established quality, safety, and hazardous material procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Ophthalmology.

Salary Range

$127,900.00 – $204,500.00 / Annually
