Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Staff AI/ML Engineer for the Onboard Embodied AI team in the Bay Area, focused on real-time ML for autonomous driving. You will design, architect and deploy models translating sensor data into driving actions, mentoring engineers and shaping ML roadmaps.

The role requires advanced degrees and 4+ years in foundation models, with strong Python/C++ skills and experience in CV and real-time inference.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Ph.D. in Machine Learning, Robotics, CS, or Electrical Engineering.
• 4+ years of experience with large-scale Foundation Models (LLMs, VLAs, vision models).
• Experience deploying end-to-end ML systems in real-time onboard apps.
• Strong software engineering with Python and C++ and ML frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy onboard ML models for real-time inference.
• Lead complex ML projects from conception to onboard implementation.
• Mentor ML engineers and influence engineering practices across teams.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary groups to integrate ML into autonomous systems.
