Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the Observability team in Menlo Park, CA. You will own the full-stack observability platform, drive the roadmap, and lead a six-engineer group to deliver scalable telemetry and AI-enhanced monitoring.

You will shape cost-effective ingestion, set performance targets, and collaborate with the Command Center and product teams to keep systems reliable at scale.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with large-scale observability or infrastructure platforms.
• Experience owning an observability control plane or telemetry pipeline in production.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the full-stack observability roadmap for metrics, logs, traces, and alerting infrastructure across the engineering org.
• Lead the observability control plane team to ensure availability and cost efficiency of telemetry ingestion.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on incident response, dependency mapping, and standards.
• Establish and maintain SLOs to meet 99.9% uptime targets for observability systems.
