Job summary
Temporal Technologies in the United States is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join the Infrastructure Team with a focus on observability, internal tools and customer-facing monitoring. You will design and build scalable, distributed systems that empower developers and operators across Temporal's ecosystem.
You will own end-to-end lifecycle, mentor teammates, participate in on-call rotations, and drive performance, reliability and test coverage with modern tech like Kubernetes, SQL and cloud
Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to develop horizontally scalable, resilient, and high performance distributed systems in a production environment.
- Experience designing, implementing, deploying, and supporting observability pipelines or high-throughput data processing.
- Expert in one or more high-level programming languages, preferably Go.
- Expert-level Kubernetes skills.
- Expert-level query development skills, preferably SQL.
- Hands-on experience with cloud providers (AWS or GCP).
- Strong understanding of computer architecture, operating systems, and networking.
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end SDLC: requirements, design, implementation, deployment, and maintenance.
- Lead feature design, gather feedback, and drive consensus with stakeholders.
- Document design choices and operational knowledge for deployment and management.
- Provide test and production readiness coverage for unit, integration, and performance.
