UI Health Care Department of Nursing is seeking a 75% - 100% Staff Nurse to work in the Surgery Specialty Clinic, Emergency General Surgery Clinic .
The EGS clinic sees patients with hernias, trauma, cholecystitis, appendectomies, pilonidal, general abdominal wounds, lipomas, cysts, and coordination of outpatient PEG tube placements.

Position Summary:
The Surgery Specialty Clinic is home to the Emergency General Surgery Clinic.
The Surgery Specialty Clinic care team includes doctors, nurse practitioners, physician assistant, registered nurses, licensed practical nurse, medical assistants, and physicians in training.The team works together to provide a multidisciplinary and holistic approach to best serve the patient and the family. The Surgery Specialty Clinic Team provides an enjoyable atmosphere for staff that includes ongoing professional growth and development.
Duties to include:
Percent of Time: 75% - 100%(30-40 hours per week)
Salary: $61,782 minimum at 100% effort to commensurate. Salary will be based on years of experience and percent effort
Schedule: Variable days and times Monday through Friday 0700- 1730 or until clinic close. No weekends, no holiday, no call.

Education
An Associate’s Degree in Nursing, a Diploma in Nursing, a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, Professional Masters of Nursing and Healthcare Practice (MNHP), MSN/Clinical Nurse Leader or a Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN, MA) is required
Required Qualifications
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills with patients/families, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members as demonstrated through written and verbal interactions.
General computer skills are required.
Current license to practice nursing in Iowa is required by date of hire
Desired Qualifications
Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or Masters Degree in Nursing is highly desired.
If Baccalaureate degree in Nursing is not yet obtained, active enrollment in a BSN program is desirable.
