Job summary

Hennepin Healthcare's Allergy Service is seeking a registered nurse to provide and coordinate care across clinics. The role supports wellness, triages patients, educates on disease processes, and documents individualized plans of care within the System Relationship-Based Care model.

Coverage includes the downtown Minneapolis clinic with potential travel to North Loop, Richfield and Golden Valley sites. A MN RN license, one year of allergy/asthma outpatient experience, and a valid driver's

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program with RN licensure.
• Minnesota RN license in good standing is required.
• One year of Allergy/Asthma outpatient experience is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and access to insured vehicle required.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate nursing care within the Allergy Service.
• Triaging patients by severity and referrals to appropriate setting.
• Alleviate suffering through treatment of the human response.
• Partner with patient and family to plan care.
• Document interventions and an individualized plan of care.
• Educate patient on their disease process and prevention.
• Assure continuity of care and follow-up as needed.

JOB DETAILS Department: Allergy Service FTE: 1.0 (80 hours per pay period) Number of shifts per pay period: 10 Shift(s): Days Weekend rotation: N/a Shift Length: 8 hours Call: N/a Note: Allergy Service’s main clinic is located at the Clinic and Specialty Center in downtown Minneapolis. This role may require metro travel to provide coverage at North Loop, Richfield, and Golden Valley clinics - and future expansion allergy clinics.Valid Driver’s License and availability of an insured vehicle required

RESPONSIBILITIES

Within the context of the Hennepin Healthcare System Relationship-Based Care practice model, and under general supervision, the registered nurse provides and coordinates nursing care by:

• Protecting, promoting wellness and optimizing health
• Triaging patients by assessing severity of symptoms and referral to appropriate setting or level of care
• Alleviating suffering through the treatment of the human response
• Partnering with the patient, their family and significant others
• Documenting interventions and an individualized plan of care
• Educating patient on their disease process
• Assuring continuity of care
• Educating patient and family in preventative care which promotes health and well being

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
• Possession of a valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State of Minnesota
• One year of Allergy/Asthma clinical outpatient experience
• Valid Driver’s License and availability of an insured vehicle required

Preferred Qualifications:

• Allergy shot lab experience
• Certification in area of clinical specialty
• BSN Preferred. Bachelor of Nursing degree is strongly encouraged. Advancement in academic education will be discussed as part of individual professional development during the annual performance review.
