Job summary

Community First Medical Center is seeking a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) to join the ICU team caring for patients with a full range of critical care needs. The role requires practicing within the Illinois Nurse Practice Act to deliver individualized, high-quality nursing care, and to lead in patient-centered care plans.

New grads are welcome. The position features a 3pm–11:30pm shift with a $3,000 hire bonus and benefits for full-time and part-time staff.

Qualifications

  • IL RN license or pending.
  • Good written and verbal English communication.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and document accurately.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses patients across biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, and developmental domains.
  • Demonstrates empathy, active listening, and cultural sensitivity; supports patient dignity.
  • Develops and updates a patient-centered plan of care with timely adjustments.
  • Performs clinical and technical nursing care per policies and procedures.
  • Evaluates nursing interventions for effectiveness and outcomes.
  • Collaborates with physicians and staff to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Mentors and precepts colleagues and staff as needed.

Come join our team in the I.C.U. as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) who practices within the scope of the Illinois Nurse Practice Act to ensure the delivery of comprehensive, high quality, individualized nursing care, based upon knowledge and experience, the nursing process and leadership skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Assesses each patient’s biophysical, psycho-social, environment, spiritual, cultural, self-care, educational and discharge planning based on age and development status.
  2. Utilizes the caring behaviors of empathy, active listening and cultural sensitivity and supports patient dignity.
  3. Develops and prioritizes an outcome directed plan of care to assigned patients and changes as necessary.
  4. Performs clinical and technical aspects of care in accordance with established policies, procedures.
  5. Evaluates the effectiveness of nursing interventions.
  6. Reviews the plan of care and consults with the physician and other health care providers to adjust the plan to assure optimum patient outcomes within the scheduled time frame.
  7. Serves as a mentor/preceptors for colleagues and other staff within or outside of areas of responsibility.
