Job summary

Banyan Treatment Centers in Castle Rock, CO is seeking a Nightshift Staff/Floor Nurse (LPN) to join our nursing team on a full-time basis. The role reports to the department director and includes direct shift support from designated leads in a 60-bed dual-diagnosis facility offering care from detox through residential and PHP.

You will provide essential nursing services to patients with SUD and MH conditions, ensure regulatory compliance, collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, and uphold

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care during night shift under medical provider protocols.
• Perform nursing assessments and document admissions timely.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor patients for psychiatric symptoms and safety, escalate as needed.
• Maintain HIPAA-compliant documentation in EMR.

Banyan Treatment Centers dual diagnosis facility in Castle Rock, CO has a full-time, nightshift opportunity for an LPN to join their nursing team as a Staff/Floor Nurse. This position reports to the department's Director and receives direct shift support from designated shift leads.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care under the supervision of the medical provider in accordance with medical protocols and standards of practice.


• Complete comprehensive nursing assessments and required admission documentation within established timeframes.


• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and provide medication education as indicated.


• Assess patient medical needs, determine urgency, and initiate appropriate interventions, referrals, or emergency response as required.


• Monitor patients for psychiatric symptoms, medication effectiveness, and safety concerns, and report changes to the nursing leadership, provider, or treatment team as appropriate.


• Apply sound clinical judgment in crisis situations, including suicide risk assessment, de-escalation, and patient safety interventions.


• Accurately transcribe, document, and implement provider orders, including verbal orders when permitted.


• Collaborate with physicians, psychiatrists, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary team members to support integrated patient care.


• Communicate patient health concerns to nursing and clinical leadership and participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning.


• Maintain timely, accurate, and complete documentation in the electronic medical record in accordance with licensure, accreditation, and organizational standards.


• Ensure confidentiality of patient information and compliance with HIPAA, Joint Commission standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.


• Support medication management and controlled substance processes in collaboration with Compliance and nursing leadership, as applicable.


• Maintain required certifications, training, and continuing education in accordance with organizational and regulatory requirements.


• Participate in in‑service education, department meetings, and staff meetings as required.


• Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, adaptability, and effective teamwork in a regulated healthcare environment.


• Perform additional duties as assigned within scope of practice.

Qualifications

• An active unrestricted LPN license in Colorado


• Nursing degree/diploma from an accredited school of Nursing, BSN preferred.


• 2 or more years of nursing experience is preferred.


• Work experience within an inpatient dual-diagnosis (SUD & MH) setting is strongly preferred.

Competencies

• Working knowledge of nursing standards of care for patients with mental health conditions, substance use disorders, and co‑occurring diagnoses.


• Strong clinical assessment, documentation, organizational, and communication skills.


• Ability to maintain professionalism, objectivity, and composure in high‑stress or emergency situations.


• Demonstrated understanding of patient confidentiality, ethical practice, and regulatory compliance requirements.


• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary treatment team.


• Familiarity with KIPU EMR system
