Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current New Jersey RN license.
• Current BLS Certification.
• Oncology provider card training (ONS).
• Oncology Nursing Certification (OCN) preferred.
• NJ nursing licensure required.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' physical and emotional health before, during and after treatment.
• Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biologics, targeted therapy, blood products and other medications.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions and treatment-related complications.
• Manage symptoms such as pain, nausea, fatigue and infections.
• Educate patients and families about diagnosis, treatment plans, medications, nutrition and home care.
• Coordinate care with physicians, pharmacists, social workers and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
• Maintain infection control and safety protocols when handling hazardous medications.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education.
• Complies with unit and departmental scheduling guidelines.
• Maintains the standards of nursing care and implements the policies and procedures of the hospital and Nursing Department
