Job summary

NYC Health + Hospitals’ Queens Hospital Center is recruiting a professional nurse to provide direct patient care in an assigned unit under supervision. You will diagnose and treat responses to health problems using standard nursing methods, conduct health teaching, counseling, and life-supportive care to patients and families.

Minimum qualifications include a valid New York State license as a Registered Professional Nurse and current AHA Basic Life Support certification.

Qualifications

• Valid New York State license and current registration to practice as an RN in NY.
• Holds or obtains BLS certification through AHA.

Responsibilities

• Identifies and discriminates between physical and psychosocial signs and symptoms.
• Develops and evaluates nursing regimens for assigned patients.
• Records nursing care plans and progress notes for continuity of care.
• Interprets and reports responses to the health team.
• Participates in planning a comprehensive patient care program with interdisciplinary teams.
• Supervises allied nursing personnel as needed.
• Provides teaching and guidance to junior staff.
• Maintains standards of nursing practice and participates in conferences.
