NYC Health and Hospitals is seeking a Staff Nurse in Behavioral Health Services to provide professional nursing care to patients on the INPATIENT BEHAVIOR HEALTH 10F unit, applying diagnostic and therapeutic nursing methods. Harlem Hospital Center location in New York, NY.

The role offers a full-time day schedule (7:30 A.M – 8:00 P.M) with a pay of $112,775 per year and comprehensive benefits, plus education and certification differentials and loan forgiveness programs.

Qualifications

• New York State RN license required.
• Nursing experience as Staff Nurse preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify and discriminate between physical and psycho-social signs and symptoms.
• Develop, implement, and continuously evaluate the nursing regimen for assigned patients.
• Record and maintain nursing care plans and progress notes to ensure continuity of care.
• Interpret and report responses of patients to appropriate members of the health team.
• Participate with interdisciplinary health team members to plan a comprehensive patient care program.
• Determine and assign components of the nursing regimen to allied nursing personnel.
• Provide teaching, guidance, and direction to allied nursing personnel in patient care.
• Maintain standards of nursing practice and participate in policy discussions.

About This Role

The Staff Nurse in Behavioral Health Services provides professional nursing care to patients within an assigned unit, focusing on diagnosing and treating health problems through various nursing methods and techniques.

What You’ll Do

Requirements

Experience:

• Nursing experience as a Staff Nurse preferred.

Licenses & Certifications:

• Valid New York State RN License required.

Additional Compensation

• Annual education differential based on degree:
  • Bachelors in allied health discipline = $900
  • Masters in allied health discipline = $1,200
  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) = $1,800
  • Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) = $2,000
  • Doctorate in Education, Nursing Practice or PhD in Nursing (DNP) = $2,500
• Annual certification differential ranging from $1,878 up to $4,878 for nationally recognized certifications.
• Annual nursing experience differential ranging from $987 up to $8,190 for up to 10 years of experience.
