University Health is seeking a registered nurse to provide basic leadership for assigned patients and collaborate with multiple departments to implement care plans. The role includes mentoring staff nurses and ancillary personnel, with guidance from senior nurses and the Patient Care Coordinator.

Qualified candidates must hold a Texas RN license and have current AHA BLS certification; BSN is highly preferred and at least one year of experience is required.

POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides basic leadership skills for assigned patients, collaborates with other departments and begins process of proactive thinking when implementing the plan of care. Serves as mentor to the staff nurse and ancillary personnel; receives mentoring from Staff Nurse II and III; and Patient Care Coordinator.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Minimum of one year experience required. Verification of course completion in accordance with all American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support and Health Care Provider guidelines is required. BSN highly preferred.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION

Current license from the Board of Nurse Examiners of the State of Texas to practice as a registered nurse is required. Must have a current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider or AHA BLS Instructor Provider card.
