Job summary

vCluster Labs is seeking a Staff Network Engineer to design and build automation for NVIDIA switches, InfiniBand fabrics, and related networking infrastructure. You will move from hands-on configuration to owning the fabric provisioning platform in a fast-paced R&D environment with collaboration alongside leadership.

This role focuses on fabric automation, config management, NAT/L4 load balancing, scale and failure engineering, and customer-zero work in AI clouds.

Qualifications

• You have built network automation, not just operated networks: shipped software that configures switches, routers, or load balancers programmatically.
• NVIDIA networking experience: Hands-on work with NVIDIA UFM, Spectrum or Quantum switches, Cumulus Linux, or NVUE APIs.
• Deep fabric fundamentals: Strong command of InfiniBand, VLAN, VXLAN and EVPN, and BGP at production scale.
• Production scale scars: Ran networks at real production scale and fixed root causes with automation.
• Software engineering ability: Write production code in Go or Python, use version control and code reviews.

Responsibilities

• Fabric automation: design and build systems that automatically provision and configure NVIDIA switches and InfiniBand fabrics, including integration with NVIDIA UFM.
• Network config management and sync: create a control loop that maintains switch, VLAN, and VXLAN state across platforms and detects drift.
• NAT gateway and L4 load balancing: build gateway and load balancing layers with built-in failover.
• Scale and failure engineering: define network behavior at large scale, including BGP route limits, convergence, and failover.
• Customer Zero for AI networking: run automation on real AI Cloud environments and translate lessons into product improvements.
• Technical direction: help decide what to build versus integrate and set networking standards across vCluster products.
