Job summary

Datavant, a data collaboration platform trusted for healthcare, seeks a Staff ML Platform Engineer to lead the ML Platform team. You will set direction for the paved road from notebook to production, enabling Data Science teams to self-serve while protecting PHI and regulated data.

You will own the framework for CI/CD, model workflows, and LLM-endpoint serving across providers, and mentor engineers across Data Science, App Dev, and Ops at Datavant.

Qualifications

10+ years of software engineering experience with enterprise-scale ML platforms.
Strong technical judgment and ability to set standards across teams.
Hands-on production experience with Databricks and SageMaker; familiarity with MLflow.

Responsibilities

Set technical direction across ML training, serving, and observability.
Own and evolve the paved-road framework for CI/CD and model workflows.
Lead architecture for LLM-endpoint serving across providers and self-hosted deployments.
Own tooling for MLflow, model registry, and observability.
Partner with Data & ML Platform teammates to present a cohesive platform.
Influence vendor/platform selection for model providers and tooling.
Mentor senior engineers and contribute hands-on IaC work.
