Job summary

Salesforce is seeking a Staff Machine Learning Engineer with deep expertise in model training and finetuning to join our ML team. You will design, train, and ship NLP models powering core product experiences, including summarization, search ranking, and generative features used by millions daily.

This hands-on role covers end-to-end lifecycle from data curation and training infrastructure to deployment and monitoring on GPU clusters.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience training and fine-tuning deep learning models in NLP.
• 5+ years of experience with common deep learning frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX, etc.
• Track record of shipping fine-tuned models to production that serve real users at scale.
• Experience with functional or imperative programming languages: PHP, Python, Ruby, Go, C, Scala or Java.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute finetuning strategies for large language models and NLP tasks.
• Own the model training lifecycle end-to-end including data curation and deployment.
• Build and maintain scalable finetuning pipelines on GPU infrastructure.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers and Frontend Engineers to build new features.
• Mentor engineers and review code; improve engineering standards and tooling.
