Job summary

Ema Unlimited in San Francisco is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to design and deploy production-grade NLP, retrieval, and code-generation models. You will work with large datasets, build transformer-based systems, and contribute to end-to-end ML pipelines.

You will collaborate across teams in a fast-paced startup, focusing on robust experimentation, MLOps, and clear communication of technical decisions to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related quantitative field.
• At least 2 years of industry experience in building and deploying production-level ML models.
• Deep understanding of NLP techniques and large language models.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, develop, and deploy ML models for NLP, retrieval, ranking, reasoning, dialog, and code-generation systems.
• Implement advanced ML algorithms including Transformers, reinforcement learning, and agent-based systems.
• Process and analyze large datasets to inform model development and improvements.
• Oversee the complete ML lifecycle from problem definition to deployment.
• Implement AB testing and validated automated testing for model robustness.
• Communicate ML concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
