Job summary

Uber's Customer Obsession team is hiring a Staff ML Engineer to architect, productionize, and scale an autonomous support agent for end-to-end issue resolution. You'll work on agentic architectures, GenAI orchestration, and multilingual support at global scale.

You will mentor engineers, define technical strategy, and drive cost-efficient, reliable solutions with strong CI/CD practices. This role requires 7+ years of ML experience and a CS degree.

Qualifications

• 7+ years producing ML/AI systems and 2+ years leading complex initiatives.
• Deep expertise in LLM-driven systems: inference, prompts, safety.
• Track record shipping customer-facing intelligent experiences with metrics.
• Bachelor's Degree or above in CS or related field.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end agent architecture, planning, memory, and policy enforcement.
• Advance retrieval and reasoning pipelines with policy-driven tools.
• Establish evals and CI/CD integration with safety tests and cost checks.
• Drive automation at scale, localization, and rollout strategy.
• Mentor engineers and set technical strategy and quality bars.
