Job summary

Waymo is hiring a Staff Machine Learning Engineer, AI Infrastructure, to lead the design and implementation of scalable ML infrastructure. You will work across data generation, model training, and production serving, ensuring reliability and performance for real-world autonomous driving data and simulations.

The role requires 7+ years of hands-on ML systems experience, strong Python/C++ coding, and expertise with JAX/TensorFlow/PyTorch.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on experience building machine learning systems.
• Experience designing, scaling, training, deploying, and optimizing large-scale ML systems.
• Strong coding experience in Python and/or C++.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of ML infrastructure for DUE models from data to production serving.
• Design and scale distributed systems for large-scale dataset generation, model training, and evaluation.
• Own reliability, efficiency, and observability of production ML serving; optimize performance.
