Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a talented Mission Assurance Engineer to join our team in the Baltimore, MD area.

The Program Mission Assurance Engineer develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product, focusing on defect minimization and process improvement.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Collaborating with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place.
  2. Performing oversight and monitoring of program risks and opportunities.
  3. Assisting in the performance of independent quality reviews to ensure compliance with contractual and customer requirements.
  4. Designing and analyzing inspection and testing processes, mechanisms, and equipment.
  5. Conducting quality assurance tests and performing statistical analysis to assess product quality.
  6. Auditing quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.
  7. Specializing in areas such as design, incoming material, production control, and product evaluation.

Basic Qualifications:

  1. STEM based BS Degree + 12 years of experience; MS Degree + 10 years; or PhD + 7 years.
  2. Active Top Secret/SCI clearance required at the time of application.
  3. Experience on Space systems programs, such as payload, spacecraft bus, antenna, launch, ground systems, and/or operations and maintenance activities.
  4. Direct program experience working with disciplines such as Program Management Office, Global Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Engineering, SEIT, and PM&P.
  5. Experience working with and managing subcontractors.
  6. Experience with Integration and Test, Validation and Verification, and supporting Parts, Materials, and Processes Control Board.
  7. Experience supporting Risk and Opportunity Management Board.
  8. Experience working directly with customers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience supporting Configuration Control Board.
  2. Experience supporting Engineering Review Board.
  3. Experience leading or supporting Failure Review Board.
  4. Certified in lean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies.
  5. Experience with requirements management and associated tools, e.g., DOORs.
  6. Systems engineering experience on complex integrated systems.
  7. Experience on Government contracts.
  8. Experience writing proposals.
  9. Evidence of excellent time management, presentation, and negotiation skills.

Salary Range: $163,200 - $244,800
