Job summary

Neya Systems, a subsidiary of Applied Research Associates, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and integrate rugged hardware for off-road autonomy and robotic platforms. You will collaborate with software, electrical, and systems teams to build durable sensor payloads and vehicle sub-assemblies that withstand harsh environments.

Responsibilities span concept through field deployment, including DFMA, testing, and collaboration with suppliers.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
Background in mechanical product design with hardware, sensors, and electronics integration.
Advanced CAD proficiency in SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD.
Strong foundation in mechanical analysis including load cases and thermal dynamics.
Experience balancing cost, weight, lead time, and mechanical complexity.
Clear written and verbal communication with ownership of work.

Responsibilities

Drive mechanical systems from concept through prototype, integration, and field deployment.
Define mechanical and environmental requirements with customer leads and internal teams.
Create complex parts and assemblies in SolidWorks for integrated robotic systems.
Perform structural, thermal, and dynamic analyses using hand methods and Ansys.
Prototype, fabricate concepts, and drive DFMA improvements with suppliers.
Collaborate with autonomy, software, and electrical teams in a lab and field environment.
Support field demonstrations and customer testing as needed.
