Job summary

Bloom Energy is seeking a Sustaining Product Design and Supplier Development Engineer in California to sustain product development for reliability, cost reduction, and manufacturability improvements. You will provide technical support to field service and quality teams, interfacing with manufacturing on design improvements and with contract manufacturers on qualification and timing.

Responsibilities include leading design changes, coordinating ECN processes, and transferring designs to suppliers

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Proficient in CAD modeling with SolidWorks.
• Experience sustaining product design and supplier development.

Responsibilities

• Sustain product development for reliability and cost reduction.
• Interface with quality groups to identify field reliability issues and drive root causes.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to improve manufacturability and implement design changes.
• Design/validate/implement changes to reduce product cost.
• Lead design transfer to contract manufacturers and suppliers with milestones.
• Drive process development to improve manufacturability and learn from lessons.
• Address capacity and DFM issues with suppliers and engineers.
• Provide engineering solutions to design/manufacturing problems with suppliers.
• Manage top level assemblies in a PDM environment and communicate with suppliers.
• Control drawing and model releases through an ECN process.
• Create and manage SolidWorks CAD models, drawings, and assemblies.
• Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
