Job summary

Bloom Energy in San Jose, CA, is seeking a Staff Engineer, Development to join our team in one of today’s most exciting technologies. This on-site role focuses on sustaining product design and supplier development.

You will lead design and manufacturing improvements, interface with quality, support NPI/Quality/Supply chain, and coordinate with contract manufacturers to drive timely production releases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering; SolidWorks CAD modeling experience.
• Proven ability to work on cross-functional projects.
• Excellent SolidWorks CAD and drafting knowledge.
• Experience with revision control using a CAD vault tool.
• Experience with ECN processes (Agile).
• Strong communication skills and self-motivation.
• Willingness to travel overseas (30-50%).

Responsibilities

• Sustain product development for reliability improvement and cost reduction.
• Interface with quality groups to identify reliability issues and drive corrective actions.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to implement design changes for manufacturability.
• Lead design transfer to contract manufacturers and suppliers for production release.
• Manage top level assemblies in a PDM system and control drawing releases.
• Create and manage SolidWorks CAD models and drawings.
• Communicate with cross-functional teams to coordinate engineering changes.
