Job summary

Bloom Energy seeks a Principal Supplier Quality Engineer to join our San Jose, CA team. You will own supplier capability assessments, drive improvements, and manage product/process development with suppliers to meet rigorous quality standards.

The role requires a BS/MS/PhD in a relevant engineering field, 10+ years of experience in quality, and strong leadership to influence cross‑functional teams. Travel up to 40% may be required.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Science, or Physics.
• Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience with demonstrated Quality Management System auditing.
• Strong project/process management skills and ability to plan, develop, organize, and implement quality processes.
• Proven ability to meet targets and deliver First-Time Right-On-Time.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally with suppliers.
• Leadership skills to drive teams to meet goals at senior levels.
• Proficiency with MS Office; experience with JMP, R, Tableau or similar tools.
• ASQ CQE certification and Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.
• Ability to present formal reports and conduct DOEs and ANOVA.

Responsibilities

• Own assessment of supplier capability and drive improvements to meet Total Quality targets.
• Assess manufacturability of new designs and assist engineering and suppliers to improve it.
• Manage product and process development, including change management with suppliers.
• Lead supplier development and deployment of manufacturing processes meeting Bloom Energy requirements.
• Review supplier quality documentation for acceptability and drive PPAP, GR&R, GD&T.
