About This Role
We are seeking an experienced Staff Mechanical Engineer to oversee the engineering development of commercial water chilling systems. The role includes leading the integration of mechanical system designs into chiller and split system new product development programs. You will serve as a technical leader across cross-functional teams to bring high-performing, reliable hardware products from initial concept to full production. To do this, the Staff Engineer must have a strong understanding of the thermodynamics of the chiller system, chiller modeling, tube in shell heat transfer, pressure vessel design, refrigerant system performance analysis and compression application.
Thermodynamic based modeling and optimization of chiller system design, fluid filtration and pumping
Work cross functionally with service and operations teams to effectively launch designs into production
Develop chiller system architecture that meets or exceeds the product development requirements
Confirm product design performance, capability and reliability in the engineering product test laboratories
Collaborate with the product marketing teams locally to develop product requirements and ensure that the product meets their needs when launched
Prepare phased gate/process materials and present to senior leadership on regular basis
Execute tests for systems, sub-systems, and components. Analyze test results in relation to design or rated specifications and test objectives
Follow all appropriate design, safety, and qualification standards in development programs.
Work toward commonality and optimization of product & components to reduce design errors and escapes
Produce parts, specifications, designs, or sketches for machines, components, systems or work orders / purchase requests
Bachelor’s Degree and 7+ years of HVAC product design experience or Master’s Degree and 5+ years of HVAC product design experience
1+ years of experience with new product development and/or sustaining engineering
Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Project leadership experience
Strong communication skills, primarily in English
Leadership and teamwork skills
The annual salary for this position is between $96,000.00 - $192,000.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
Thisposition is entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
