Job summary

Crusoe is seeking a Staff Software Engineer specializing in Linux kernel security to strengthen the core kernel and OS components powering our AI hardware. You will lead kernel hardening, CVE triage, and secure development practices across the stack, working with hardware, hypervisor, and cloud infrastructure teams.

You have 5+ years in low-level OS or kernel security, deep Linux internals knowledge, and experience with mitigations and debugging tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience with at least 3 years focused on low-level operating systems or kernel security.
• Strong knowledge of Linux kernel internals and security fundamentals.
• Experience with CVE remediation, security mitigations, and secure development practices.

Responsibilities

• Kernel hardening, CVE triage, and backporting fixes across release paths.
• Enforce access controls, secure boot, CI guardrails, and fuzzing coverage.
• Research vulnerabilities across kernel, driver, and OS components to build mitigations.
• Conduct security-focused code reviews and promote secure coding standards.
• Develop and use kernel security auditing tools (fuzzers, static/dynamic analysis).
• Provide incident response support for kernel or OS-level security incidents.
