We're looking for an experienced Staff Security Engineer to join our IT Infrastructure team. This remote role will report to the Manager of IT Security. You'll be responsible for:



  • Developing, implementing, maintaining, monitoring, and supporting enterprise IT security best practices across networks, applications, cloud infrastructure, and endpoint devices

  • Collaborating with Zscaler product teams to configure, maintain, and support corporate instances, ensuring up-to-date security parameters and implementations

  • Assisting Security teams in scripting and automating repetitive tasks related to policy creation, incident response, and alert handling

  • Implementing zero trust solutions focusing on user-to-application traffic, workload-to-workload traffic (on-premises/cloud), posture checking, and active detection across networks and endpoints

  • Deploying and managing cloud (CSPM) and data security (DSPM) policies, collaborating with environment owners for remediation, and optimizing DLP alerts to improve efficiency


What We're Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)



  • 7+ years of experience in IT security or related field

  • Experience with zero trust solutions (ideally Zscaler Internet Access and/or Private Access) and technologies like identity verification, role-based access control, and posture checking

  • Deep understanding of cloud architecture, cloud security challenges, operating systems (Windows/MacOS/Linux), networking, access control, and authentication

  • Proven experience in scripting to automate complex IT problems (language flexible) and familiarity with DevOps workflows

  • Excellent reporting and analytical skills (e.g., Excel, Sheets)


What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)



  • Experience with security appliances and applications, including hands-on configuration of SSL/TLS inspection, content filtering, firewall rules, DLP, and endpoint security

  • Experience with log streaming configuration, analysis, event correlation, and false positive reduction

  • Network troubleshooting experience with tools like ping, traceroute, MTR, and protocol analyzers (e.g., tcpdump, Wireshark)

The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.


The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.

Base Pay Range
$129,500$185,000 USD
