Job summary

Abridge is seeking a Staff IT Engineer to lead automation across the corporate IT stack, architect scalable infrastructure, and mentor a growing team. You will design HIPAA‑compliant automation, own workflow automation, API integrations, IAM, and data engineering, collaborating with IT leadership and Security.

Proficiency in Python, Terraform, REST/GraphQL, and cloud platforms (GCP/AWS/Azure) is required; exceptional communication to engineers and executives is essential.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in IT Engineering, IT Apps Development, or DevOps with 5+ years in large-scale enterprise automation
• Cloud & platform expertise across GCP, AWS, and/or Azure; IaC with Terraform
• Proficient in a modern programming language, preferably Python
• Experience with REST/GraphQL APIs and relational databases (SQL preferred)
• Automation platforms experience (n8n, SOAR, Ansible, Workato)
• Experience in regulated industries (healthcare, SOC 2, HIPAA) with strong communication skills

Responsibilities

• Develop scalable workflow automation to streamline onboarding, access requests, compliance enforcement, and self-service IT
• Build robust, fault-tolerant API connections and event-driven integrations
• Drive IAM automation with automated role assignment, least-privilege enforcement, and auditable logging
• Architect data platforms for IT data collection, normalization, and secure storage for reporting and auditing
• Lead engineering best practices, code reviews, and mentorship in automation principles
• Own deployment and lifecycle management of business systems and custom applications, ensuring security and scalability
