Unity is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the Ads SDK team specializing in iOS to own the iOS SDK architecture and work closely with Android engineers. This hands-on leadership role focuses on performance, reliability, and developer experience while solving complex end-to-end problems.

You will mentor engineers, drive architectural direction, and ensure backward-compatible SDK releases across platforms while delivering high-quality components and scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Production iOS software development experience.
• Strong Swift skills and familiarity with Objective-C.
• Deep understanding of iOS lifecycle, memory management, concurrency, networking, and rendering.
• Experience designing SDKs, with attention to backwards compatibility and release practices.
• Ability to navigate Android concepts when projects span platforms.
• Experience diagnosing production issues using profiling, crash reporting, logs, and metrics.
• Proven track record leading complex, multi-engineer projects and influencing technical direction.

Responsibilities

• Lead the iOS SDK direction, owning architecture and implementation of major initiatives.
• Design and build high-quality SDK components in Swift with performance and reliability in mind.
• Collaborate with Android engineers on shared architecture and APIs.
• Own projects end-to-end from design through rollout and measurement.
• Address production issues across lifecycle, memory, networking, and rendering.
• Improve initialization, loading, memory, binary size, crash rates, and observability.
• Mentor engineers through reviews and architecture discussions.
