Unity is seeking a Staff Software Engineer specializing in iOS to own the iOS SDK architecture and implementation. You will work closely with iOS and Android engineers to build fast, reliable, and backwards-compatible SDK components that power Unity Ads.

This hands-on leadership role emphasizes end-to-end project ownership and architectural risk management. You'll mentor teams, optimize startup and runtime performance, and shape the direction of our end-to-end monetization stack for diverse

Qualifications

• Deep expertise developing and shipping production iOS software.
• Expert-level Swift and familiarity with Objective-C.
• Strong understanding of iOS app lifecycle, memory management, concurrency, networking, rendering and performance.
• Experience designing SDKs or libraries embedded in third‑party apps, including API design and versioning.
• Working knowledge of Android concepts and ability to navigate Kotlin/Java code.
• Track record of leading technically complex projects across multiple engineers or teams.

Responsabilités

• Lead the technical direction of our iOS SDK, owning architecture and implementation.
• Design and build high-quality SDK components in Swift with performance and backward compatibility in mind.
• Collaborate with Android engineers on shared architecture and features.
• Own complex projects end-to-end from design through rollout and iteration.
• Resolve production issues related to app lifecycle, memory, networking, rendering, and host-app interactions.
• Improve SDK initialization, ad loading/rendering performance, memory usage, crash rates, observability, and release safety.
• Mentor engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and hands-on collaboration.
