Job summary

Google is seeking an Interaction Designer to transform complex tasks into intuitive experiences used by billions. You will create user flows, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes, collaborating with Engineering and Product Management to evolve the design language and build products with a magical feel.

You will apply user-centered methods to craft industry-leading experiences from concept to execution, contributing to Vids and Google Cloud initiatives across the design ecosystem.

• Experience in designing cross-product integrations or "bridge" experiences that leverage an existing ecosystem.
• Expertise in video creation and editing workflows, from conception to post-production.
• Understanding of generative video models (e.g. Veo) and their practical application in consumer or enterprise interfaces.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $188000 - $274000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

• Accelerate your designs with AI-first methodologies (e.g. vibe coding functional prototypes), allowing leadership and cross-functional partners to stress-test concepts and evaluate non-deterministic interactions in real-time.
• Lead design strategy and critical projects for Vids, defining how generative video and recording journeys integrate into a cohesive tool that users adopt as a habit.
• Translate open-ended, ambiguous problems, such as "video-native collaboration" or "narrative-driven AI generation" into tractable roadmaps for engineering and product teams.
• Partner with Product and Engineering leads to define core features, ensuring that technical capabilities (e.g. video models) are consistently productized for user-centered needs.
• Set and maintain a high bar for design and product excellence by eliminating "UX papercuts" and driving systemic improvements to our user experience.
