Job summary

Google's NetInfra Drain team seeks a Staff Software Engineer to own outcomes in large-scale infrastructure with deep expertise in C++ or Go and the ability to influence stakeholders across a matrixed organization.

You will lead design and implementation of core infrastructure, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive quality from design through deployment in a fast-paced environment with ample opportunities to shape the future of Google's infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
• 8 years of experience programming in C++ or Go.
• 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products.
• 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership on high-impact projects.
• Influence and coach a distributed team of engineers.
• Facilitate alignment and clarity across teams on goals, outcomes, and timelines.
• Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
