Job summary

Abaka AI, headquartered in Silicon Valley with teams in Paris, Singapore, and Tokyo, is hiring a Member of Technical Staff, Infra. You will own the scalability and reliability of services powering our AI-native platform, focusing on backend infrastructure, APIs, and data models while supporting end-to-end development when needed.

You will work as a product-minded engineer with ownership from day one, contributing to the Expert Talent platform in a fast-growing environment and collaborating

Qualifications

• 3+ years backend engineering experience.
• Experience with API design, data modeling, distributed systems, databases.
• Ability to own architecture across teams and balance UI-backend needs.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture of Abaka Expert Platform's shared backend systems—core services, data models, APIs, and cross-product infrastructure.
• Define and drive the long-term technical strategy for backend architecture across the organization.
• Design, build, and ship backend services and APIs that power AI-native product features at scale.
• Design systems for scale, reliability, and evolvability; lead critical design reviews.
• Establish backend engineering standards and patterns adopted across product teams.
• Partner with Product and AI/ML teams to translate requirements into production-grade systems.
• Use modern AI development tools.
• Improve performance, reliability, and observability of existing backend infrastructure.
• Debug and resolve production issues
