Job summary

AbakaAbaka AI is seeking a Member of Technical Staff, Infra to own the scalability and reliability of backend services, APIs, and data models powering our AI-native platform. Backend and infra will be your primary focus, with the ability to support end-to-end product development when needed.

You will design scalable systems, drive architecture decisions, improve performance and observability, and collaborate with Product and AI/ML teams. Ownership from day one in a high-growth environment.

Qualifications

• Strong backend engineering experience with API design and data modeling.
• Track record of owning architecture across teams or organizations.
• Comfort with frontend (React/TypeScript) and full-stack collaboration.
• Product-minded with focus on customer outcomes and shipping.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture of shared backend systems including core services and APIs.
• Define long-term backend strategy across the organization.
• Build and ship backend services powering AI-native features at scale.
• Lead design reviews and set engineering standards.
• Collaborate with Product and AI/ML teams to translate requirements.
• Improve performance, reliability, and observability of backend infra.
• Debug and resolve production issues.
