Job summary

Google is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead Home and Health Infrastructure initiatives in Los Angeles. You will guide a team of engineers, share technical leadership, and influence priorities across multiple projects.

You will own outcomes for large-scale distributed systems, collaborate with cross-functional partners, and drive architecture decisions while delivering high-impact solutions for billions of users.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development.
• 3 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
• 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.
• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related fields preferred.
• 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization preferred.
• Experience in prioritization preferred.

Responsibilities

• Help guide a team of engineers to set and maintain priorities.
• Provide technical guidance across multiple projects at once.
• Help manage short to mid-term time horizon infrastructure projects.
