Job summary

Shield AI seeks a seasoned Staff ISSO to safeguard classified information systems within a high-performance Federal Systems Team. This on-site role focuses on implementing cybersecurity controls, RMF lifecycle support, and ensuring DoD/IC compliance across multiple classification levels, including CDS environments.

You will collaborate with ISSM and stakeholders to maintain SSPs, conduct vulnerability analysis, and drive continuous monitoring while guiding engineers on secure design and MLS

Qualifications

• 8 years in cybersecurity or ISSO roles in classified environments.
• Experience with RMF and NIST 800-53.
• Familiarity with STIGs and vulnerability tools.

Responsibilities

• Review configurations, audit logs, and controls regularly.

• Report system risk posture.

• Ensure STIG compliance.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and mission-driven Staff Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to support our Federal Systems Team and ensure the security, compliance, and integrity of our classified information systems. This is an on-site role within a high-performance classified IT environment.

The Staff ISSO will play a critical role in safeguarding systems by implementing and maintaining cybersecurity controls, supporting system accreditation, and ensuring compliance with DoD and Intelligence Community (IC) security requirements. This role is central to enabling secure operations across multiple classification levels, including environments leveraging Cross Domain Solutions (CDS).

What you’ll do:

Information Assurance & Security Compliance:

• Implement and monitor cybersecurity controls in accordance with RMF and NIST 800-53
• Ensure compliance with DoD and IC requirements
• Review configurations, audit logs, and controls regularly

RMF & Accreditation Support:

• Support RMF lifecycle activities
• Maintain SSPs, POA&M[s], and related artifacts
• Coordinate with ISSM, AO, and stakeholders

Continuous Monitoring & Risk Management:

• Perform vulnerability management and patch tracking
• Analyze scan results (ACAS/Nessus)
• Report system risk posture

Incident Response & Audit Support:

• Support incident response activities
• Assist with audits and inspections
• Maintain audit-ready documentation

Cross Domain Solutions (CDS) Security Oversight:

• Support CDS accreditation and compliance
• Validate configurations and data flows
• Coordinate with CDS administrators

Collaboration & Advisory:

Required qualifications:

Preferred qualifications:

• IC or SAP environment experience
• eMASS familiarity
• Scripting experience (Python, PowerShell, Bash)
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

$120,000 – $190,000 a year
