SCOPE OF POSITION: This active support role involves learning the routines of the dining hall/kitchen, service crew, camp counseling, and program areas through assigned tasks.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE: Must be at least 16 years old.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Desire to work with youth.
  • Be a Christian with a strong commitment to following Jesus Christ and biblical principles, enthusiastic, energetic, and creative in spiritual leadership.
  • Possess leadership skills to assist in supervising and caring for a cabin of campers.
  • Ability to teach and lead activities.
  • Good communication skills with diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work in groups.
  • Ability to observe camper behavior, enforce safety, and manage behavior.
  • Visual and auditory ability to respond to hazards.
  • Good character, integrity, adaptability.
  • Enthusiasm, humor, patience, self-control.
  • Proficiency in English communication.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain poise.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Willingness to keep information confidential.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Program Support: Assist in supervising and engaging campers, communicate with counselors, enforce rules, lead activities, and set a good example.

Dining Hall & Service Duties: Set/clear tables, serve food, maintain cleanliness, unload and store supplies, wash dishes.

Service Crew Duties: Clean facilities, restock, set up/take down activities, unload supplies, remove trash, clean lodging.

General Duties: Foster Christian faith, participate in programs, enforce policies, maintain cleanliness, perform other assigned duties.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, lift up to 25 lbs, respond to emergencies.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Exposure to diverse environments, outdoor work, potential communicable diseases, inclement weather, high noise, bodily fluids.
