Job summary

VT Group (VTG) seeks an experienced Staff II/Staff III AI/ML Engineer to lead design, development, evaluation, and deployment of advanced AI for mission-critical initiatives in northern Virginia. You will advise senior leaders and engage with government and commercial stakeholders as a trusted AI authority.

Responsibilities include overseeing autonomous workflows, AI orchestration, data prep, model development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in AI, ML, software engineering, or data engineering.
• Statistical modeling and AI evaluation methodologies.
• Experience with AI testing, validation, benchmarking, and evaluation for traditional ML and generative AI.
• Experience implementing practical MLOps pipelines and AI operationalization frameworks.
• Strong programming experience with Python and notebooks (Jupyter).
• Experience with big data and distributed processing: Spark, Databricks.
• Experience with major clouds: Azure, AWS, GCP.
• Familiarity with containerization and CI/CD for AI deployments.
• Strong communication and customer-facing skills.
• Ability to translate complex concepts into actionable business solutions.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and implement advanced AI/ML solutions, including autonomous workflows and AI orchestration.
• Lead end-to-end AI lifecycle: data ingestion, model development, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
• Develop and mature AI evaluation methodologies, including bias and fairness assessments.
• Establish and implement AI governance with responsible AI, security, explainability, and data governance.
• Collaborate across engineering, cybersecurity, cloud, data, and product teams to deliver integrated AI solutions.
