Job summary

Maven Clinic is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the Identity Platform to drive the technical vision and roadmap for authentication and authorization systems. You will lead design, development, and maintenance of scalable identity solutions across Maven's product ecosystem.

Bring 8+ years in backend and 3+ years in IAM, with strong expertise in OAuth/OIDC/SAML/JWT and cloud-native architectures. Hybrid work and collaboration with security/compliance teams are core to this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 8 years of backend development experience with 3+ years in authentication/identity.
• Deep expertise in modern auth protocols: OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, JWT, MFA/passwordless.
• Experience with distributed systems, microservices, containers, and orchestration.
• Hands-on cloud experience (AWS/GCP/Azure) with IaC and serverless architectures.
• Knowledge of SOC 2/HIPAA security/compliance is a plus.
• Strong design leadership, collaboration, and mentoring capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and maintenance of scalable identity solutions and auth platform.
• Drive architecture decisions, security standards, and cross-team collaboration.
• Mentor engineers and guide best practices for secure, reliable systems.
• Collaborate with product, security, and compliance to deliver new features.
