A leading consulting engineering firm is seeking a Staff Highway Engineer I to join their Transportation Division in Pittsburgh, PA. The ideal candidate will have 4–7 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering. Responsibilities include performing highway design tasks, preparing engineering documents, and assisting with field work. Proficiency in Microstation and Inroads is required. Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering required, MS a plus.
• 4–7 years of relevant work experience.
• EIT, PE licenses required or working toward PE.

Responsibilities

• Perform highway design tasks on transportation projects.

• Prepare engineering documents and plans according to CAD standards.
• Assist with field work and data collection for design.

Skills

Proficiency in Microstation

Inroads (preferably Open Roads)

Staff Highway Engineer I for our Transportation Division at the Pittsburgh, PA office. The ideal candidate will be experienced and able to complete the following tasks:

Responsibilities

• Perform assigned highway design tasks on transportation projects, researching design criteria and completing related tasks on horizontal and vertical alignments, cross sections, and other roadway design layout items.
• Use engineering software and publications to provide solutions to design issues, coordinate with other staff, develop design plans, quantities, and project details, and prepare parts or all of design reports.
• Prepare engineering documents and plans in accordance with company/project CAD standards.
• Assist with field work and other data collection related to the project design process.

Required Attributes

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (MS a plus).
• Experience: 4–7 years of relevant work experience.
• Proficiency: Microstation, Inroads (preferably Open Roads), and Microsoft programs.
• Knowledge of PennDOT and PA Turnpike standards and programs (AutoTab and Tab Wizard).
• Licenses: EIT, PE (or working toward PE).

Preferred Attributes

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Experience in traffic and/or drainage design.
• Willingness to learn and take on new tasks.
