Shield AI is searching for a Staff Harness Design Engineer based in Dallas, Texas, to lead the design of wire harnesses and cable assemblies for our cutting-edge autonomous UAV platform. In this pivotal role, you will manage the entire harness design process, conduct reliability analyses, and collaborate across engineering teams.

The ideal candidate will have over 8 years of related experience, a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field, and strong CAD skills. This full-time position offers an attractive benefits package including equity and bonuses.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in wire harness design for aerospace or robotics.
• Experience designing harnesses for UAVs, aircraft, or spacecraft.
• Ability to obtain a S//SAR level security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of wire harnesses for autonomous UAVs.
• Own harness design process including concept and 3D CAD routing.
• Collaborate with teams for integration and mentor engineers.

Skills

Wire harness design expertise

Strong CAD skills (NX or CATIA)

Experience with EWIS design software

Knowledge of Teamcenter or similar PLM systems

Hands-on experience with harness fabrication or testing

GD&T and IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards

Proficiency in failure mode analysis (FMEA)

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering
