GreenWave Radios, headquartered in San Diego, is seeking a Staff Hardware Design Engineer to design and develop PCB circuitry for next-generation, high-performance cellular base stations. You will work on board-level hardware that integrates with our custom silicon—spanning digital processing, SerDes, power management, and RF transmission/reception.

This hands-on role offers growing ownership: you will execute PCB design from schematic to production, collaborating with analog, digital, and RF

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience designing mixed signal circuits in hardware engineering
• BSc in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Proven PCB schematic and layout design in high-speed RF/analog
• Hands-on experience with Cadence Allegro
• Strong grounding in signal integrity, power integrity, and thermal management
• Knowledge of PCB fabrication processes and DFM best practices
• Experience mentoring junior designers and cross-functional collaboration
• Excellent communication across multiple domains

We're looking for a talented Staff Hardware Design Engineer to design and develop PCB circuitry for next-generation, high-performance cellular base stations. You'll work on the board-level hardware that integrates with our custom silicon - spanning digital processing, high-speed SerDes, power management, and RF transmission/reception - helping deliver solutions that are high-reliability and power-efficient.

This is a hands-on technical role with growing ownership: you'll execute PCB design from schematic to production, collaborating closely with domain experts across analog, digital, and RF to bring the hardware together.

What You'll Do

• Execute PCB development from concept through production, with increasing ownership over design decisions
• Design and implement RF, analog, digital, and power circuits for high-performance base station products
• Collaborate with domain experts on floor planning and PCB constraints for seamless integration
• Own schematic capture and PCB layout, and participate in design reviews
• Optimize PCB stack-up for performance and cost
• Develop and maintain schematic symbols and component footprints
• Contribute to and improve the PCB development flow for better quality and productivity
• Participate in PCB vendor engagement and DFM reviews
• Drive board bring-up and debug, escalating complex issues with structured analysis

What You Bring

• 8+ years of relevant experience designing mixed signal circuits in a hardware engineering role
• BSc in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience/training
• Proven track record in PCB schematic and layout design, ideally in high-speed and RF/analog applications
• Hands-on experience with Cadence Allegro
• Solid grasp of signal integrity, power integrity, and thermal management principles
• Working knowledge of PCB fabrication processes and DFM best practices
• Strong foundation in both analog and digital electronics
• Experience mentoring junior designers and sharing technical knowledge across the team
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills - you'll work daily with experts across multiple domains

Nice to Have

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where innovation must align with real-world constraints
• Exposure to AI-assisted EDA tools for schematic capture, layout optimization, or DFM checking
• Comfort using AI copilots (e.g., Cadence’s AI/ML-enabled Allegro features, or general LLM tools) to speed up documentation, datasheet parsing, or design-rule research
• General comfort adopting AI-augmented workflows to boost design productivity - this is a plus, not a requirement, for the right hands-on RF/analog expert

Compensation And Benefits

At InnoPhase, dba GreenWave Radios, our total rewards package includes both a competitive base salary and pre-IPO stock options. The anticipated base salary range for this position is $140,000 to $170,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors, including market conditions, interview performance, skills, qualifications, experience, education, and geographic location.
