Atlas is seeking an early-career geotechnical engineer or geologist to join a team supporting energy infrastructure projects across the United States. You will contribute to geotechnical investigations, engineering analyses, and technical report preparation alongside experienced professionals.

The role offers exposure to large-scale projects, opportunities to develop technical writing and project coordination skills, and travel for field investigations, meetings, and site visits.

Qualifications

  • Strong technical writing, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Willingness to travel routinely for field investigations, project meetings, and site visits.
  • EIT certification or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire (engineering candidates).
  • 0-3 years of relevant experience (internships and co-ops qualify).

Job Description

Join a team supporting some of the most innovative and high-profile energy infrastructure projects in the nation. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to complex geotechnical investigations and engineering evaluations for advanced nuclear and energy-related facilities while working alongside industry-leading engineers, scientists, and project managers. The successful candidate will gain exposure to large-scale projects that help shape the future of reliable, clean energy infrastructure across the United States.
The ideal candidate is a motivated early-career engineer or geologist with strong technical writing, communication, and organizational skills, along with a desire to learn from experienced technical professionals. Success in this role means becoming a trusted team member who delivers high-quality engineering documentation, supports project coordination and field activities, and helps keep multidisciplinary projects moving forward safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

Core Responsibilities

Support geotechnical investigations, engineering analyses, and technical report preparation.

Assist project managers with day-to-day project coordination, scheduling, and client communication.

Participate in field exploration programs, data collection, and construction-phase services.

Coordinate with subcontractors, laboratories, and multidisciplinary project teams.

Prepare engineering calculations, figures, and technical documentation.

Help deliver complex projects safely, on time, and with a high standard of quality.

You’ll thrive here if you have

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology, or a related field.

0-3 years of relevant experience (internships and co-ops qualify).

EIT certification or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire (engineering candidates).

Strong technical writing, communication, and organizational skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.

Willingness to travel routinely for field investigations, project meetings, and site visits.

Valid driver’s license and ability to pass client-required background screenings, as needed.
