Job summary

Xometry, based in Denver, CO, is seeking a Staff Machine Learning Engineer to lead our Generative AI initiatives. You will drive the development of multimodal document understanding, structured data extraction, and scalable ML pipelines that power real-world manufacturing solutions.

You will set technical direction for the team, collaborate with product and engineering stakeholders, and mentor junior engineers while delivering high-impact AI capabilities across the Xometry marketplace.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in ML or data science, with generative models or vision
• Experience with large-scale language and vision models (Transformers, GPT, VLMs)
• Hands-on with multimodal data (text, images, 3D)
• Proficiency in Python and ML libraries (PyTorch, TensorFlow, pandas, NumPy)
• Experience deploying ML and AI models using cloud microservice architecture (AWS preferred)
• Strong communication with all levels of the organization

Responsibilities

• Set the technical direction for the Generative AI team and establish best practices
• Shape the AI roadmap and identify valuable opportunities across Xometry’s marketplace
• Develop and deploy large language and generative models for multimodal document processing and structured data extraction
• Explore new ways to combine text, images, and 3D data to unlock smarter solutions
• Create data pipelines and training workflows that scale to massive datasets
• Deploy models in production using cloud platforms such as AWS
• Collaborate with engineers, product leaders, and business teams to integrate AI into products
• Mentor teammates on advanced ML methods and model architectures
• Stay up-to-date with latest generative AI research and bring new ideas to production
