Job summary

Airbnb is hiring a Staff Software Engineer for its AI Platform in the United States. The role focuses on building scalable GenAI infrastructure and expanding the ML platform to boost productivity for over 200 ML engineers and data scientists.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to power data-driven product features, leveraging OSS tools like Ray, TensorFlow, PyTorch, MLFlow, LangChain, Airflow and more.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of industry experience or relevant academic experience.
• Solid understanding of engineering and infrastructure best practices.
• Strong coding skills in Python/Java or equivalent.
• Strong experience and knowledge of distributed systems.
• Experience building end-to-end machine learning platforms is a plus.
• Experience developing and productionizing machine learning models is a plus.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Spark, Docker, Airflow is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build scalable GenAI infrastructure to support evolving needs of Airbnb teams using foundational language/vision models.
• Drive expansions of our ML platform to improve productivity of 200+ ML Engineers & Data Scientists.
• Create solid data foundations powering data-driven product features like Categories.
• Use OSS technologies such as Ray, MLFlow, TensorFlow, PyTorch, LangChain, Airflow, Spark, Docker, Kubernetes, JupyterHub.
• Work with customer teams to deliver high-impact product wins.
