Job summary

ID.me is seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Full Stack to join the Commerce & Loyalty team, working from Mountain View, CA. You will own the Shop front-end and contribute to backend services, APIs, and the shared UI foundations.

The role emphasizes deep frontend expertise with React/Next.js, TypeScript, and design systems, while maintaining strong collaboration with Design and Product to translate commerce concepts into member-facing experiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of frontend engineering experience.
• Strong vanilla JavaScript, HTML, and DOM expertise.
• Hands-on experience shipping Web Components in production.
• Proficiency with React and Next.js.
• Experience with UI component libraries or design systems.
• Familiarity with design tokens, theming, and scalable CSS.
• Full stack ownership from frontend to backend APIs.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve Shop front-end surfaces using React/Next.js and TypeScript.
• Build and extend backend REST endpoints to support UI features.
• Integrate with Shopping Graph and Developer Portal APIs.
• Contribute to UI Foundations and design system when applicable.
• Set engineering standards; mentor other engineers.
• Ensure performance, accessibility, and cross-browser reliability.
• Provide production support and triage incidents.
