Job summary

Grindr, the AI-native platform supporting the LGBTQ+ community, is hiring a Staff Full Stack Engineer in the Health division. You will own health web experiences from UI architecture to APIs, collaborating with Product, Design, and other engineers to ship accessible, high-performing features.

You will build frontend with TypeScript, Next.js, React, and contribute to Kotlin backend services using Redis, Postgres, and Kafka on AWS.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience as a Software Engineer focused on user-facing web apps.
• Strong experience with TypeScript, Next.js, React and modern frontend tooling.
• Experience building scalable frontend architecture, including state management, component design, and performance optimization.
• Experience with backend systems (service APIs, data processing, messaging) in a microservice-based architecture.
• Experience building on cloud services, AWS preferred.
• Passionate about testing software and systems.
• You love figuring things out and understanding how they work end-to-end.
• Experience shipping production Node and JVM (Java, Kotlin, Scala) applications.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and development of Grindr's health web experiences from UI to APIs.
• Work closely with Product Managers, Designers, and other Engineers to turn designs into polished, accessible features.
• Build and maintain frontend applications using Typescript, Next.js, React.
• Contribute to Kotlin backend services and integrations using Redis, Postgres, and Kafka on AWS services.
• Innovate by guiding data-driven decisions to adopt new technologies, architectures, and workflow.
• Own frontend performance, reliability, and quality, and lead optimization and incident management.
• Help guide and mentor team members through pairing sessions, code reviews, and architecture reviews.
